Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium Funding

Publicly-funded schools in England get extra funding from the government to help them improve the attainment of their disadvantaged pupils and to close the gap between them and their peers. It is allocated to schools according to the number of pupils who have been:

*registered as eligible to receive Free School Meals

*been is care for six months or longer

*children of service personnel

at any point over the last six years.

Evidence shows that children from disadvantaged backgrounds:

  • generally face extra challenges in reaching their potential at school.

  • often do not perform as well as their peers.

All schools can decide how to allocate this additional funding to best ensure that each pupil thrives and makes excellent progress in their learning. We use a three-year Pupil Premium strategy, as recommended by the Department for Education, which is reviewed annually.

Please read the information below which gives details of our Pupil Premium Grant and how we allocate the funding.
